Mexico City's Desjardins wins Player of the Week award
<a href=p1090.html>Eric Desjardins</a> from Mexico 
City wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting 
up the best numbers this week in the American League. 
He had an on base percentage of .563 and hit .581, 
while driving in 2 runs. He got at least one hit each 
game this week and is on a 10 game hitting streak right 
now. <a href=p828.html>Luke Sandy</a> wins his 2nd 
Player of the Week award. National League pitchers 
couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week 
long. In 27 at bats he hit .481 with 4 HR and 12 RBI. 
He now has homered in 3 consecutive games as well! 
Sandy has walked 80 times this year and posts a .338 
OBP. While batting .251, 145 for 578, he has driven 
in 113 runs.
